Students come to Emerson each year from all over the United States and more than 50 foreign countries.

Boston is widely known as the academic capital of America. More than 250,000 students populate the area from around the world, making it a rich international community. Emerson's location in the center of the city allows our students to make the most of academic, social and cultural opportunities.

The city has more than 30 foreign consulates and is home to scores of multi-national organizations and corporations. A nearby international airport makes travel both convenient and affordable.

Emerson College defines an international applicant as a student who:

• Is not a United States citizen or permanent resident (“green card” holder)

OR

• Is a United States citizen or permanent resident who has attended school abroad
